At T'ang Dance Project, our works are grounded in authenticity, emotional depth, and artistic integrity. 

Our creative process is deeply rooted in collaboration. As Artistic Director and Lead Choreographer, Sook Kuan places great importance on the integrity of the devising process, beginning with thoughtful research and development. Each production emerges through an organic evolution. We believe in a decentralised approach to creation—where performers and/or devisers are individual yet connected vessels. Every work is the result of collective discovery, accumulation, and synthesis. Though guided by a clear artistic vision, the process is nurtured by mutual trust, curiosity, and a shared passion to tell stories in ways that resonate uniquely with each piece's emotional and thematic core.

This spirit of collaboration and openness allows our productions to remain alive, honest, and deeply human.

Commissioned works/projects

Beyond our own original creations, T'ang Dance Project is honoured to be invited to co-create, perform, and choreograph across diverse disciplines and contexts. Our commissioned works span contemporary dance gala nights, documentary films, community musical theatre, and inclusive collaborations with artists of differing abilities.

Each project is approached with the same depth of care and artistic integrity we bring to our own productions—rooted in a desire to connect, to listen, and to craft meaningful work with and for the communities and partners we engage with. We embrace each commission as an opportunity to further our mission: to awaken movement with meaning, and to shape experiences that resonate beyond the moment of performance.
